Lloyd Phiri And Zambian Army Officer Arrested Over Recruitment Scam

Police in Kabwe have arrested a Zambia Army officer and a former civilian staff member of the Army for allegedly obtaining money by false pretenses.
Central Province Police Commanding Officer, Charity Munganga, identified the suspects as Thomas Somanje, 53, a Warrant Officer Class One, and Lloyd Phiri, 33.
The two allegedly collected an undisclosed amount of money from 16 youths under the pretext of facilitating their recruitment into the Zambia Army and Zambia National Service.
They are currently in police custody.
