Chimwala wraps-up campaign with a whistle stop tour

Business came to a standstill on Saturday in Machinjiri township as Independent Shadow Member of Parliament for South Lunzu Constituency Alex Achalume Chimwala took to the street to woe voters ahead of the Tuesday, September 2025 polls.
Chimwala started the whistle stop tour at Khama where several supporters accompanied by youths who are taking part in the under-14 Alex Chimwala Football trophy welcomed him.
The Shadow MP who was accompanied by Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) Governess for South Lunzu Constituency Caroline Mlenga made his first stopover at Nkolokoti Primary School where he addressed his supporters.

Chimwala then proceeded with the imbizo to Chikapa, Area 5, Luwanda up to st Theresa Primary School Ground at Kameza where the whistle stop tour ended.
Addressing the huge crowd gathered at the venue Chimwala appealed to voters to vote for him.
“The people of Machinjri if in any way i wronged you unknowingly please forgive. All I need from you is your vote. If you vote for me i will make sure that this area is developed.

“Machinjiri has no youth Centre, no main market and no Secondary School and I promise you that once am elected Machinjri will have all these things,” said Chimwala.
On her part, DPP governess Caroline Mlenga said: “This is the time that we the people of Machinjiri would like to correct the mistake that we did in 2019 by voting for someone who is not from Machinjiri. Chimwala is from Machinjri and lets give him a vote this time.”
Malawians will go to polls this coming Tuesday to elected President, Lawmakers and Ward Councillors.
