Late Chief Kwataine of Ntcheu to Be Laid to Rest Wednesday

Information reaching our news desk indicates that the late Chief Kwataine of Ntcheu, who passed away on Monday, will be laid to rest on Wednesday at his headquarters in Madzanje Village.

According to the Ntcheu District Council, the body of the late chief, fondly known as Masina, is expected to arrive in the village today from Lilongwe, where he had gone to seek medical treatment at Lilongwe Private Hospital, and where he passed away.

“There will be a special ceremony to take the body to Mthunzi Funeral Home in the city, after which our chief will escort it so that the people of the village can also bid their final farewell,” said Maston Kaiya, spokesperson for the Ntcheu Council.

He added that the burial is expected to take place around noon on Wednesday.

Preparations for the funeral ceremony are currently underway, with dignitaries and members of the Maseko Ngoni expected to attend.

The nation continues to mourn the passing of a chief who was known for his leadership and commitment to community development.
