Reverend Sister Kinse Anastasia has been dismissed from the Catholic Church after publicly speaking out about alleged sexual abuse by priests.

She served in the Auchi Catholic Diocese in Edo State and accused certain priests of exploiting nuns for sexual purposes.

Her revelations were made in an open letter titled “We’re Not Your Wives, Stop Using Us as Bedmates,” where she described systemic abuse and cover-ups within the Church.

Sister Kinse claimed some senior nuns were complicit, allegedly pimping out younger sisters to priests known for sexual misconduct.

One disturbing incident she shared involved a priest who tried to coerce her into sex after buying condoms and taking her to lunch.

Instead of investigating her claims, Church authorities removed her from her convent and dismissed her from her job at Veritas University.

On September 24, 2025, she announced her dismissal in a Facebook post, revealing that her belongings had been packed and left outside her room.

She was given just 100,000 Naira as severance, which she described as humiliating and unjust.

Despite the Church’s actions, Sister Kinse affirmed her faith, stating, “I am a Catholic, and I love my Church.”

Her story has sparked outrage and calls for accountability, as many question why the institution punished the whistleblower instead of the accused.

While some doubt her claims, others see her courage as a turning point in exposing abuse and demanding reform within religious institutions.
