Renowned social media influencer–turned–politician Gerald Chamvez Kampanikiza, popularly known as GCK, has returned to his outspoken ways after a quiet period in active politics.

Kampanikiza, who contested for the Dedza Boma parliamentary seat on the Malawi Congress Party (MCP) ticket but failed to secure a win, is once again making waves with cryptic but fiery posts on his Facebook wall.

In his latest rant, GCK appears to direct sharp criticism at a senior MCP figure, though he stops short of mentioning names.

“Imagine threatening big business people when you are only a minister… what more if you were something bigger? God does not make mistakes, my brothers and sisters. In everything, give glory to Him,” Kampanikiza wrote.

He went on to allege shady dealings around the Nsanje–Bangula–Marka railway project, suggesting that the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) should investigate how the contract was awarded to Mota-Engil before being handed to a Chinese company.

The former aspirant further claimed that the unnamed MCP bigwig once plotted against him, even placing him at number two on a “target list” meant to silence perceived threats.

“This person said that once I sworn in, GCK would be arrested. But maybe things have turned around, and he will face his own downfall instead,” he added, hinting at divine justice.

The post has sparked speculation online, with many social media users connecting the dots and suggesting that Kampanikiza may be referring to Vitumbiko Mumba, who was President Chakwera’s running mate in the last election.

As of now, GCK has not confirmed the identity of the person he is accusing  but his remarks have reignited intrigue within MCP circles, with followers keenly waiting for what might come next.
