The Office of the President and Cabinet (OPC) has announced the immediate dissolution of all boards of parastatal organizations and state-owned enterprises in Malawi.

The announcement was made in a statement released today, signed by Dr. Maxwell S. Tsitsi, a senior official in the OPC.

According to the statement, any matters or concerns that would typically be addressed by the dissolved boards should now be directed to the OPC through the Department of Statutory Corporations (DSC).

This sweeping move comes just two days after President Peter Mutharika was sworn in as the 7th President of the Republic of Malawi, signaling the beginning of a major governance overhaul.
