Unidentified Body Found Near University of Malawi: Police Investigate

Information reaching this publication indicates that police in Zomba are investigating the discovery of an unidentified body found early Thursday morning at a sewage site in Suwej, located in the Chikanda area near the University of Malawi (CHANCO).
Zomba Police Public Relations Officer Patricia Silipiliano confirmed the incident, stating that community members who gathered at the scene were unable to identify the deceased. Preliminary reports suggest the individual, believed to be male, may have been assaulted by unknown assailants. The body was found charred and bleeding, raising suspicions of foul play.
Police believe the incident occurred in the early hours of the morning, and investigations are currently underway to establish both the identity of the deceased and the circumstances surrounding the death.
The body has been taken to Zomba Central Hospital mortuary for a postmortem. Authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward to assist with the investigation.
