MERA CEO Henry Kachaje Suspended

The Government of Malawi has suspended Malawi Energy Regulatory Authority (MERA) Chief Executive Officer Henry Kachaje.
The development was confirmed by Chief Secretary to the President and Cabinet, Justin Saidi, who stated that the suspension is in connection with ongoing investigations into matters concerning Kachaje.
This move follows a wave of recent suspensions of top officials, including Malawi Communications Regulatory Authority (MACRA) Director General Daud Suleman, Malawi Broadcasting Corporation (MBC) Director General George Kasakula, and National Economic Empowerment Fund (NEEF) CEO Humphrey Mdyetseni.
