Police in Kasungu have arrested two suspects, Ferguson Phiri, 32, and Obvious Msimuko, 23, for allegedly trafficking two individuals to Zambia.

According to Chikondi Nedi Assistant Public Relations Officer for Kasungu Police, the incident occurred at Chisinga in Kasungu district.

The suspects were arrested during a routine police check at Kasungu National Park gate while en route to Zambia.

“Police officers became suspicious when they noticed a motorcycle with four people on it,” Chikondi explained. “Upon further questioning, the two victims revealed they were being taken to work on farms in Zambia.”

The suspects, who hail from Mtuwa village in Traditional Authority Chisinga, Kasungu district, will face court soon.
