The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has announced that South Africa has changed its entry requirements effective 16 October 2025.

Under the new rules, senior government officials and private citizens will not require a visa for visits of up to 30 days.

However, government officials will still need to apply for a visa in advance, although the application will be free of charge.

Furthermore, the ministry said it is currently engaging with South Africa to establish a mutually beneficial arrangement for both countries.
