Sam Kawale Joins Race for Speaker of the Parliament

Senior member of the Malawi Congress Party (MCP) and Dowa North East Member of Parliament (MP) Sam Kawale has expressed his interest in contesting for the position of Speaker of the House of Representatives.

Kawale’s declaration brings the total number of candidates vying for the seat to four.

Those who have already expressed interest include Sameer Sulemani of the DPP, Dr. Kondwani Nankhumwa of the PDP, and George Million, who is running as an independent candidate.

Parliament is expected to start soon and Malawians are waiting to see who will be the next speaker.
