Information reaching this publication indicates that there was chaos at Mzuzu Central Hospital after a crowd of people rushed to the facility following rumours that individuals suspected of killing a man in an attempt to steal his motorbike were clinging to the deceased’s body.

When contacted, Timothy Soko, an official at Mzuzu Central Hospital, dismissed the reports as false, describing them as misinformation being spread on social media.

“All this is not true; it’s just fake news circulating on social media, and people should not take it seriously,” said Soko.

Meanwhile, police officers have been deployed to the hospital’s Emergency Department to disperse the crowd and restore order.
