Three Forest Workers Injured While Seizing Charcoal at Fumbati in Ntchisi

Three forest department workers were injured after being attacked by people suspected of transporting charcoal in Fumbati Forest, Ntchisi District, today.

One of the injured, Zebron Lupeska, said he had been sent by his superiors to the forest to seize a vehicle allegedly used by the suspects.

Ntchisi Police spokesperson Salomy Zgambo confirmed the incident but said no arrests have been made so far.

The District Forest Department Chief, Jimu Lukwale, stated that he would provide a comment on the matter at a later time.
