Police at Jenda in Mzimba have arrested two men, Bright Mwale, 34, and Wongani Nyirongo, 29, for theft of various household items valued at K600,000 in the district.

The incidents occurred on separate dates, between October 14 and October 25, 2025 at Embangweni Mission Hospital campus.

It has been established that on October 14, one of the complainants went to bed after ensuring that all doors were properly locked. In the following morning, she was surprised to find the kitchen door broken and several kitchen items missing, all valued at K200, 000.

In another incident, which occurred between October 24- 25, 2025 Mwale broke into the house of Evidence Manda, a nurse at Embangweni Mission Hospital, and stole household items valued at K400, 000.

The first suspect later on disclose that some items were being given to his accomplice, Nyirongo for safe keeping, bringing the total value of stolen items to K600,000.

Following an intelligence driven operation, police at Embangweni arrested the suspects on October 28, 2025.

The suspects will appear in court whereby Mwale will answer the charge of burglary/theft, while Nyirongo will answer the charge of receiving stolen property.

Bright Mwale hails from Kaseka Village, Traditional Authority Mzikubola, while Wongani Nyirongo comes from Chilupula Village, Traditional Authority Mbelwa, both from Mzimba District.
