Police Burn Confiscated Cannabis in Nkhata Bay

Police in Nkhata Bay District today burned three tonnes of cannabis that had been confiscated from various individuals.
Deputy Police Spokesperson for the district, Devetor Mithi, said the exercise followed a ruling by the Second Grade Magistrate’s Court in Nkhata Bay.
According to Mithi, the cannabis was seized from different people between September 2024 and August this year.
He said the destruction of the drugs aims to curb the illegal sale and trafficking of cannabis in the district.
