UTM Councillor Alfred Butao Elected Rumphi District Council Chairperson

Nkhamanga Ward Councillor, Alfred Butao of the United Transformation Movement (UTM), has been elected Chairperson of Rumphi District Council.

Butao won the seat after securing five votes against his contender, Councillor Mazile Chibambo of Henga Ward, who received three votes.

In his acceptance speech, Councillor Butao pledged to foster unity and collaboration among councillors and the council secretariat to ensure the implementation of meaningful development initiatives across the district.

He further urged all stakeholders to put political differences aside and work together for the advancement of Rumphi District.
