Former Deputy Police Chief Ackis Muwanga to Face Court on Extortion Charges

Former Deputy Inspector General of the Malawi Police Service (MPS), Ackis Muwanga, is expected to appear before the Blantyre court this morning to be formally charged.

Muwanga was arrested earlier this week by the MPS on allegations of extortion.

His arrest follows his recent replacement by Stain Chaima as Deputy Inspector General of Police responsible for operations.
