MCP’s Hestings Bernard Nyirongo Elected Kasungu Mayor

Malawi Congress Party (MCP) Councillor for Chankhanga Ward, Hestings Bernard Nyirongo, has been elected Mayor of the Kasungu Municipal Council.
Nyirongo won the mayoral vote with six ballots cast in his favour, defeating two challengers: Annie Kafoteka, an Independent councillor for Kaswalipande Ward, and Patricia Kabera of the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) representing Mthawira Ward.
In the same elections, Kingsley Gonthi, also of the MCP and councillor for Katope Ward, was elected unopposed as Vice Mayor of Kasungu Municipal Council.
