Malawian rapper Slessor has released a new 14-track album titled ‘UNFILTERED’, days after a freestyle that ignited widespread conversation on social media.
The rapper, who also works at NBS Bank has proven that hip-hop is not about pulling down your trousers but hot bars like what he spitted in his viral freestyle and stirred debate across online platforms, says the moment inspired him to return with a full statement through music.
‘UNFILTERED’ features 14 songs, with only two collaborations, bringing in fellow Malawian artists Pon G and Hope Cizzle.
In a statement shared alongside the release, Slessor described the album as raw, honest and free of embellishment, saying it reflects his most authentic self yet.
Music commentators say the project leans heavily on social critique and lyrical craftsmanship, marking a clear response to the online buzz triggered by his freestyle.
The album is now available for streaming, with fans directed to access it on Malawi-Music.com, where the rapper has urged listeners to “let the music speak for itself”.
The release arrives amid growing discourse around artistry, image, and messaging in the country’s hip-hop scene, with supporters praising the minimalist feature list and call for authenticity.
