Former SPC Colleen Zamba Charged With Abuse of Office, Expected in Court Today

Former Secretary to the President and Cabinet (SPC) Colleen Zamba is facing an abuse of office charge and is expected to appear in court this afternoon, police have confirmed.

National Police spokesperson Lael Chimtembo said Zamba is currently being held at National Police Headquarters in Lilongwe. She faces a charge under Section 95 of the Penal Code.

“She is still in our custody. We expect to take her to court this afternoon,” Chimtembo said.

Zamba was detained yesterday in the VIP Lounge at Kamuzu International Airport as she prepared to travel to Geneva, Switzerland, for her daughter’s graduation.

She was taken in for questioning by officers from National Police Headquarters and spent the night at Kanengo Police Station in Lilongwe.
