Malawi has recorded one new confirmed Mpox case, bringing the country’s total laboratory-confirmed infections to 141 since April 2025.
The latest case, reported on 5 December, involves a 30-year-old woman from Area 23 in Lilongwe District.
According to a report from the Public Health Institute of Malawi (PHIM), the woman sought treatment at Bwaila Hospital on 1 December after showing symptoms that included fever and a skin rash.
The new case comes as the Ministry of Health and Sanitation continues administering the Mpox vaccine as part of efforts to curb the spread of the disease.
