18-Year-old Woman Arrested for Allegedly Killing Boyfriend with Scissors in Lilongwe

Police in Lilongwe have arrested an 18-year-old woman, Prisca Leman, on suspicion of murdering her boyfriend, 25-year-old Kingsley Magombo, by stabbing him with a pair of scissors.
Lilongwe Police spokesperson Hastings Chigalu said the incident occurred on Saturday, December 6, at Katantha in Area 38.
Earlier in the day, the couple had reportedly gone to Kaphiri to drink alcohol before returning to Magombo’s home, where he operated a small drinking shack.
According to Chigalu, when they arrived home, Magombo’s mother told him she did not want to see him with Leman and ordered them to separate. However, the two ignored the instructions and went back into the shack.
While inside, an argument broke out between them and escalated into a fight. During the altercation, Leman allegedly grabbed a pair of scissors and stabbed Magombo in the chest, fatally wounding him.
Leman has since been arrested and is expected to appear in court soon to answer a murder charge.
