Zomba Police Officer Found Dead in Suspected Suicide

A police officer, Sub-Inspector Charles Jackson, stationed at the Zomba Regional Police Headquarters, is suspected to have died by suicide after reportedly hanging himself.

Jackson’s body was found yesterday on a tree inside a golf course near the police headquarters.

Sources said the officer had briefly reported for work earlier before disappearing.

Police officials have not yet commented on the incident, and the regional office has referred all inquiries to the national police spokesperson.
