Man Arrested for Killing Grandmother Over Witchcraft Allegation in Neno

An elderly woman, Anna Besiyo, believed to be between 82 and 85 years old from Mofati Village under Chief Dambe in Neno District, has been killed by her grandson after she allegedly mistook him for a witch.
Chief Dambe confirmed the incident stating that it occurred in the mornig.
The grandson reportedly claimed he had been unwell for several days and had been told by his parents that his grandfather had bewitched him.
Upon hearing this, the minor, who is not yet 18 years old, attacked his grandfather with a machete inside their house.
Chief Dambe added that the boy has been arrested, while police are yet to comment on the matter.
