Man Arrested for Breaking Into Police Officer’s House in Phalombe

Police in Phalombe have arrested a 21-year-old man, Hissopy Banyira, for allegedly breaking into a police officer’s house at the Phalombe Police Lines and stealing a home theatre system and a laptop valued at K592,000.
District Police Spokesperson Jimmy Kapanja said Banyira committed the offence on Tuesday this week, taking advantage of the officer’s absence as he had travelled to Chitipa.
The suspect is expected to appear in court to answer applicable charges.
Hissopy Banyira comes from Mwepetsa Village, Traditional Authority Mkhumba in the district,
