Mutharika Back in Malawi After Undisclosed South Africa Visit

President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika is expected to return to Malawi today through Bakili Muluzi International Airport in Blantyre at 5:00pm, following a private visit to the Republic of South Africa.
According to a statement issued by the Office of the Chief Secretary to the Government, the President left the country on December 1 for a private visit to South Africa.
The statement further notes that the aircraft carrying President Mutharika and the First Lady, Madam Professor Gertrude Mutharika, departed Bakili Muluzi International Airport in Blantyre.
The statement, signed by Chief Secretary to the Government Justin Saidi, outlines the official arrangements surrounding the President’s return.
