KCH to Dispose of 15 Unclaimed Bodies After Two Months

Kamuzu Central Hospital (KCH) in Lilongwe is currently keeping at least 15 unclaimed bodies at its mortuary, some of which have remained there for close to two months.

KCH Assistant Hospital Administrator Fredrick Chinkondenji Sibande has issued a public notice informing relatives and members of the public about the situation and urging families to come forward and claim the bodies.

Of the 15 bodies, only two have been identified by name as Maxwell Banda and Grace Chidzikulu, while the rest remain unidentified.

The hospital has scheduled Friday, December 19, 2025, as the day for the disposal of the unclaimed bodies if no relatives come forward before then.
