Police Arrest Six Suspects in Murder of University Lecturer Dr Victoria Bobe

The Malawi Police Service has arrested six suspects in connection with the murder of Dr Victoria Bobe, a university lecturer based in Blantyre.
In a statement signed by National Police Spokesperson Lael Chimtembo, the suspects have been identified as Raphael Msalamyama Mano, Issa Ali, Santos Chamamba, Maxwell Eliya, Charles Chikafa and Peter Chimenya.
Chimtembo said investigations are still ongoing to track down two remaining suspects and recover the murder weapon, which is believed to be in Mozambique.
Dr Bobe, 33, was a lecturer at the Kamuzu University of Health Sciences.
She was shot dead at her home in Chigumula Township on the night of November 17, 2025.
During the attack, assailants also stole a laptop, an iPad and a bank point-of-sale machine.
