A- 7- year- old boy Gift Issa drowned in a well at chikweo.
The incident occurred on December 18, 2025, at around 09:00 hours.
According to the reporter, Injesi Tawere, 39, the late,s uncle said that, his nephew left home with his 2 – year-old cousin to visit their grandmother’s house Mrs Sipundeje at Afiki village.
Later, the two were seen by neighbours floating in a nearby well within the village, they tried to rescue them and ferried both of them to Chikweo Health center where Gift Issa was pronounced dead while the young boy was treated as an outpatient.
Postmortem conducted at the Health facility revealed that, death was due to suffocation secondary to drowning.
Gift Issa hailed from Afiki village, Traditional Authority, Adamson, District, Machinga.
