51-Year-Old Man Killed in Road Accident in Nkhata Bay

A 51-year-old man, Similton Mwale, from Timbiri Village, Traditional Authority Timbiri in Nkhata Bay District, has died after being hit by a motor vehicle at Mpamba along the Nkhata Bay–Mzuzu (M5) Road.
Nkhata Bay Police spokesperson Enala Kalua confirmed the incident, saying it occurred on Tuesday as the vehicle was traveling from Nkhata Bay towards Mzuzu.
Kalua said that upon reaching the Mpamba fuel station area, the vehicle struck Mwale as he was crossing the road from left to right. He sustained serious head injuries and was rushed to Nkhata Bay District Hospital, where he was pronounced dead upon arrival.
The driver of the vehicle is yet to be identified, and police investigations are underway.
