Stolen Toyota Ractis Recovered After Police Pursuit in Lilongwe 

Kanengo Police Station has recovered a Toyota Ractis, registration number BZ 14320, which was stolen by unknown criminals on the night of December 27, 2025, in Area 49.

Kanengo Police Public Relations Officer, Sub Inspector Gresham Ngwira, said officers launched a follow-up after receiving a theft report.

The suspects were tracked to Kamuzu Institute for Sports, where they abandoned the vehicle and fled on foot after police fired a warning shot.

Sub Inspector Ngwira said the suspects managed to escape with assorted household items.

The stolen items include a 45-inch LG plasma television, a JVC sound bar, a laptop bag containing a Lenovo ThinkPad, and two certificates, one of them a degree.

Police have intensified investigations to identify and arrest the suspects.
