Man Dies After Drinking Alcohol on Empty Stomach in Nkhata-Bay

Chintheche Police in Nkhata-Bay have confirmed the death of a 38-year-old man, Christopher Dzimbiri, who reportedly died after consuming alcohol on an empty stomach.

Deputy Police Spokesperson Devoter Mithi said Dzimbiri was found dead at his home on Tuesday in Mfufu Village under Traditional Authority Malanda.

According to Mithi, the deceased had previously been advised by medical personnel to stop drinking alcohol, but he reportedly ignored the guidance.

Concern arose when friends noticed that Dzimbiri had not reported to his shoemaking workshop. They later went to his home, where they found him lying unresponsive on the floor.

The matter was reported to police, who rushed to the scene together with health workers from Chintheche Primary Hospital.

Medical personnel later confirmed that Dzimbiri died after drinking alcohol on an empty stomach.
