Medical officer kills friend for stealing beer in Dowa

A medical officer Patrick Manzanka has been arrested for killing his friend who was accused of stealing beer at a party in Dowa district.

The chief clinical officer, Manzanka, 45, allegedly murdered his friend, Sydney Jailosi, 32, during a New Year’s Eve party.

The party, hosted at Manzanka’s residence, turned sour when staff members accused Jailosi of hiding beers, sparking a misunderstanding.

Manzanka allegedly went inside, switched off the lights, and returned with an object, stabbing Jailosi in the stomach.

Jailosi was rushed to Madisi Mission Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.

Manzanka, a respected medical professional, is now in police custody, facing murder charges.
