Rhoda Chigalu of Chikwawa District has received food items and financial assistance from the Hip Hop Movement after years of physical pain and hardship following a medical procedure that left her permanently affected in her private parts.

Chigalu underwent surgery in 2016 at Queen Elizabeth Central Hospital in Blantyre after doctors suspected she had cancer. However, it was later established that she did not have the disease. Since the operation, she has been living with severe pain and has struggled to meet her basic daily needs, despite having taken the matter to court.

In response to her situation, the Hip Hop Movement, led by artist IKK, visited Chigalu and provided her with food supplies and cash to help ease her suffering.

Speaking to the media, IKK said the group was moved to act after learning that Chigalu was enduring constant pain and facing hunger due to lack of support.

He said the Hip Hop Movement is committed to transforming lives by reaching out to vulnerable people and offering help in various ways.

IKK also appealed to well-wishers and organizations of goodwill to come forward and support Chigalu, noting that she is going through a very difficult period and needs urgent assistance.
