Police say they are yet to make any arrests a month after the body of 21-year-old Beatrice Chabwera was discovered in Area 49, Lilongwe, as investigations into the murder continue.
Central West Police Region spokesperson Foster Benjamin said officers are still working on the case and appealed to the public to assist with any information that may lead to the arrest of the suspects.
“Our officers are on the ground conducting investigations. We will update the public once investigations are completed,” Benjamin said.
However, security expert Sheriff Kaisi has raised concern over the delay, questioning why police have taken several weeks without releasing preliminary findings in such a serious case.
Beatrice Chabwera’s body was found abandoned in Area 49 in November last year. Police believe she was murdered by unknown assailants.
