Despite President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika blushing off the tenders of pundits rating 100 days of each regime including his government, many people have moved in to salute him, on how the country has performed in the past days.

In the past 100 days, the country has experienced a significant reduction in maize prices, fuel availability, forex availability thereby reducing the panic that Malawians used to have during the reign of former President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera.

Writing on his official Facebook page Leonard Chimbanga, a close ally of President Mutharika, saluted the President for stabilizing the economy

“Let me first congratulate His Excellency Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika for dragging Malawi back from collapse. As we tick off 100 days of proven leadership maize prices behaving themselves, fuel actually available, and a stable economy no longer gasping for air it’s fair to admit that the country escaped extinction.

“23 million Malawians were governed by a group that mistook chaos for strategy and violence for policy. They used violence to rise in 2020 and tried the same trick to stay there. Had that experiment continued, Malawi would be history today,” said Chimbanga.

Added Chimbanga: “Then came APM, and suddenly leadership stopped needing a passport stamp. This is a president who knows that not every issue requires boarding a plane some just need a phone call and common sense. No daughters discovering diplomacy, no sons discovering quarry contracts. Just calm, disciplined governance.”

On 4th October, the day President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika was sworn in, he had urgent issues on his desk to address.

Top amongst them was the rising fertilizer prices and their unavailability on the local market due to foreign currency limitations.

Just after being sworn-in, Mutharika announced the introduction of free Secondary Education as promised during the campaign trail.

The President also came up with a learn-Cabinet.
