Four Arrested Over Murder of Sable Farming in Chiradzulu

Police in Chiradzulu District have arrested four men in connection with the murder of Isaac Nyirenda (36), a security guard who was working at Sable Farming Limited.

Chiradzulu Police Public Relations Officer Hubert Mwangoka said the incident occurred on January 11, 2026, when the suspects allegedly invaded the farm intending to steal macadamia nuts. The attempt was reportedly foiled by security guards who were on patrol at the farm.

However, it was later discovered that one of the guards, Nyirenda, was missing. A search was immediately conducted but yielded no results. His body was discovered the following day by macadamia nut pickers.

Mwangoka said the deceased was found with a deep cut on the head, and his body is currently being kept at Chiradzulu District Hospital mortuary, awaiting a postmortem examination.

The suspects have been identified as Lovemore Mikishoni (25), Chimwemwe Lucius (24), Glosi Chidziwe (20), and Robert Kananji (20).

Police say the four will be formally charged with murder and are expected to appear in court once investigations are completed.
