Former Minister of Information Moses Kunkuyu has voluntarily surrendered himself to police at the National Police Headquarters in Area 30, Lilongwe.

Kunkuyu arrived at the headquarters this morning in the company of his lawyer, Khwima Mchizi.

He said he decided to present himself to authorities after learning that police were looking for him, although the reasons for the summons had not been communicated to him at the time.

National Police spokesperson Lael Chimtembo has confirmed that Kunkuyu is currently being questioned but declined to disclose details of the matter under investigation.

Police say more information will be provided as the situation develops.
