Unidentified Fisherman’s Body Found Floating on Lake Malawi in Likoma

Police in Likoma District have recovered the body of an unidentified male fisherman believed to be between 30 and 35 years old after it was found floating in Lake Malawi.
Likoma Police spokesperson Andrew Kusimbwa said the body was discovered yesterday in an advanced state of decomposition, which prevented clinical officers from conducting a postmortem examination to determine the exact cause of death.
Kusimbwa added that the body was later taken to Likoma Island to allow for identification, but no relatives or community members came forward to identify the deceased.
Police have indicated that there are no signs of foul play, and investigations are ongoing.
