Malawian netball star Joyce Mvula has announced that she is taking a short break from professional netball to focus on her family, moments after revealing that she is pregnant.
Mvula, a key shooter for the Malawi National Netball Team (Queens), shared the news through her official social media platforms. In a brief message, she thanked her teammates, coaches, sponsors, and fans for their continued support, emphasizing that netball remains a core part of her identity.
She made it clear that this is not a retirement, but a temporary pause as she begins a new chapter in her life.
“I am not saying goodbye to netball. I will be back,” Mvula assured her followers.

Mvula is married to Mark Chimwenje, popularly known as Bishop, who is the Vice Chairperson of the Mighty Wanderers National Supporters Committee.
Meanwhile, her club side in England, Leeds Rhinos Netball, has wished her well and confirmed that preparations are underway to find a temporary replacement during her absence.
