Sibweni on the Run: Kawale Police Seize Massive Haul of Stolen Government Drugs

Police in Kawale have launched a manhunt for a notorious fugitive drug dealer, popularly known by his nickname “Sibweni,” following a high-stakes raid at his residence in Area 23, Lilongwe.

The Great Escape Acting on a tip-off about suspicious transactions, a surveillance team led by the Station Criminal Investigations Officer (SCIO) staked out the suspect’s house. Once they confirmed he was inside, detectives moved in. However, Sibweni lived up to his “fugitive” status slipping out through a back door and leaping over a fence to evade capture.

The Seizure While the suspect escaped, he left behind a massive stockpile of medical supplies. Police discovered numerous cartons of assorted drugs believed to have been illegally siphoned from government hospitals. The seized drugs include cartons of coartem for kids, drips of ringer lactate fluids, Micromol Paracetamol, Benzel Penicillin for injection, Amoxicillin Capsules, Benzathine and assorted tablets in bottles

Sub Inspector Precious Mabvuto Phiri, Kawale Police Public Relations Officer, stated that investigations are intensified to track down “Sibweni” and his accomplices within the medical supply chain.
