Six Arrested in Nkhata Bay for Possessing Chambo During Closed Fishing Season

Police in Nkhata Bay have arrested six individuals at for allegedly possessing buckets of chambo fish during the closed fishing season.
Nkhata Bay Police Spokesperson Enala Kalua said the arrests were made during a joint operation involving police and the district fisheries department to enforce compliance with fisheries laws during the closed season.
Kalua identified the suspects as Jonathan Karonga (28), Wisdom Chirwa (49), Robert Banda (34), Innocent Chande (23), Blessings Nkhoma (33), and Peterson Mwale (25).
The buckets containing the fish have since been seized, and the suspects are expected to appear in court soon.
