Lingadzi Police detectives have arrested three men suspected to be behind a series of breaking and theft offences in Area 43, Lilongwe.
Deputy Public Relations Officer for Lingadzi Police Station, Sergeant Glory Kondowe Ngwira, said the arrests followed an intelligence-driven operation.
“The officers first arrested the prime suspect, Yembekezani Godfrey, before netting two others at Kauma. The two have been identified as Douglas Mwakisulu (31) and Izeki Mwale (31),” said Ngwira.
During interrogations, the suspects, together with accomplices who are still at large, confessed to terrorising residents of Area 43 during night hours, police said.
In a related development, Lingadzi Police have also arrested Jimmy Francis (20) and recovered a Boxer motorcycle worth K4 million, which had earlier been reported stolen in Area 43.
All suspects are currently being held in police custody and are expected to appear in court soon to answer charges levelled against them.
