Police in Nchalo, Chikwawa District, have arrested two people suspected of possessing two live pangolins.

Chikwawa Police spokesperson Dickson Matemba identified the suspects as Kingsley Kapilingana, aged 46, and Bonezi Mzambana, aged 50.

Matemba said the two were arrested at Miseufolo Market after police received a tip-off from well-wishers that the suspects were selling amaranths as a cover for illegal wildlife trading.

He added that the suspects are expected to appear in court soon.
