The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has dismissed Morocco’s complaint following the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations final, confirming that the disciplinary outcome does not affect the final scoreline.

CAF stated that all results remain intact, and Senegal officially remains the rightful African champion.

However, CAF has taken firm disciplinary action against several individuals for unsporting behaviour during the tournament.

Moroccan midfielder Ismaël Saibari has been suspended for three official CAF matches and fined USD 100,000 for unsporting conduct. The decision marks another disciplinary setback for Morocco as CAF maintains a strict stance on player behaviour.

Meanwhile, Morocco star Achraf Hakimi has been handed a two-match suspension in official CAF competitions. One match will be served immediately, while the second match is suspended for one year from the date of the ruling.

On the Senegal side, two players have also been sanctioned following disciplinary proceedings:

Iliman Cheikh Baroy Ndiaye – suspended for two official CAF matches for unsporting behaviour towards a referee

Ismaïla Sarr – suspended for two official CAF matches for unsporting behaviour towards a referee

In addition, Senegal head coach Pape Bouna Thiaw has been suspended for five matches from all official CAF competitions. CAF said the sanction was imposed due to unsporting conduct, violation of disciplinary principles of fair play and integrity, and for bringing the game into disrepute. He has also been fined USD 100,000.

CAF emphasized that while discipline has been enforced, the 2025 AFCON final outcome remains unchanged.
