Close to 40 people have been shortlisted to take part in a new film titled The SONA: State of National Address, producers have confirmed.
The project is being produced by filmmakers behind the popular productions Welcome to Maula Prison and School Days.
According to the organisers, the shortlisted candidates are expected to attend auditions on Thursday at Bingu National Stadium in Lilongwe, where final selections will be made based on performance during the tests.
One of the film’s producers, Desiree Namachotsa, said the production team is looking for participants aged 15 years and above.
The upcoming film is expected to bring together new and experienced talent as Malawi’s film industry continues to grow.
