The Malawi Hip-Hop scene is on fire following a heated exchange between rappers IKK and Slessor, with the beef now escalating from musical insults to threats of professional sabotage.

The drama began on Podcast Malawi, where IKK took a swipe at Slessor’s financial status, mockingly claiming that the rapper’s net worth doesn’t even exceed the daily transaction limits of Airtel Money or TNM Mpamba.

Not one to back down, Slessor returned to the same podcast to fire back, dismissing IKK as more of a “brand” than a real artist. Slessor questioned IKK’s lyrical prowess, labeling him a rapper who cannot freestyle and suggesting his anger stems from being denied a music collaboration (feature).

The feud took a sharper turn when South Africa-based DJ Lomwe called IKK to get his reaction to Slessor’s remarks. In a bold and controversial response, IKK claimed to have high-level “connections” capable of reaching Slessor’s workplace.

IKK boasted that he has the influence to facilitate a forced job transfer for Slessor, moving him from the city to remote rural areas like Dowa or Mchinji.

“I have connections. If I wanted to, I could have Slessor transferred today to go and work in the villages,” IKK reportedly claimed.

Fans are now bracing for more “tea” as IKK has reportedly landed in South Africa. He is expected to appear on DJ Lomwe’s new show ‘Inde Inde Podcast’ later today, where he is rumored to be preparing a full-scale rebuttal against Slessor.

As the “beef” moves from the recording booth to the corporate office, the Hip-Hop community is divided, with some enjoying the lyrical warfare while others worry that bringing “workplace transfers” into rap beef crosses a professional line.
