The Senior Resident Magistrate’s Court in Thyolo has set February 17, 2026, as the date to resume a case where three men are accused of repeatedly defiling an underage girl in the district.

The suspects have been identified as Dyton Moses, 55, Felix Bamusi, 38, and Cydrix Matias, 42 and they are answering charges of having unlawful carnal knowledge of a girl under the age of 18.

State Prosecutor for Luchenza, Dyson Mozhent, told the court that between January and February this year, the trio acted in coordination to sexually abuse the victim in Sitima Village.

The court heard that the suspects allegedly lured and groomed the girl into the acts by offering her small sums of money, amounting to K500.

The three accused men have pleaded not guilty to the charges.

Currently, the suspects are being held at Mulanje Prison pending the continuation of the trial next week.
