Malawian artist Ritaa has publicly dismissed claims linking her to a leaked list of loan beneficiaries from the National Economic Empowerment Fund (NEEF), saying she has never obtained any loan from the institution.

Over the past two days, social media has been awash with a document containing names of individuals who obtained loans from NEEF, with many reportedly failing to repay them. Among the names circulating was “Rita Chakhaza,” which some Netizens suggested that is Rita the artist.

In response, Ritaa shared a photo of her official passport showing her real name and personal details. In a caption accompanying the post, she wrote:

“Today I have been online observing what people are saying about me. I’m not Rita Chakadza but Rita Kalonga and I never got any loan from NEEF. If I offended anyone to make up stories about me like that, then sorry. Be blessed.”

The artist stressed that her real name is Rita Kalonga, not Rita Chakhaza, and maintained that she has never accessed any loan from NEEF. She said she felt compelled to present evidence in order to protect her reputation amid growing speculation online.

Ritaa has previously faced online scrutiny and cyberbullying. A few months ago, she was accused of having an affair with a former cabinet minister, allegations she strongly denied during a Facebook Live session.

Despite the controversies, the artist continues to focus on her career , personal growth and living lavish.
