Major United States media outlet CNN has reportedly published a report alleging that the United States is considering providing advisory support and military equipment to Kurdish forces as part of efforts linked to the ongoing tensions involving Iran.

According to the report, the alleged move would aim at strengthening Kurdish armed groups to confront Iranian security forces, particularly the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), in what is described as a broader strategy to weaken the current leadership structure.

The development comes amid past remarks by former US President Donald Trump regarding regime change in Iran. However, reports indicate that following the death of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, authorities swiftly appointed Ayatollah Alireza Arafi as successor in a move aimed at maintaining stability.

The report further suggests that the next phase of the alleged strategy would involve intensifying ground-level resistance efforts, potentially creating conditions that could allow external forces easier access into Iranian territory.

Meanwhile, hostilities between Iran and both Israel and the United States are said to be ongoing, with missile exchanges reported in the region.

However, there are concerns that escalation could spread across the Middle East, a scenario both Israel and the United States are reportedly keen to avoid, hoping the conflict remains limited in duration.
